Mountain Empire Disaster Preparedness Council
A group of citizens and first responders in the Eastern area of San Diego County.
The group is devoted to disaster preparedness and education for the rural areas of
San Diego County and serves as the focus group for individual community disaster groups.
Meets quarterly, January, April, July and October, on the second Tuesday
1 PM, at the Mountain Empire Community Center, 976 Sheridan Road Campo, CA 91906.
The public is welcomed and urged to attend.

The Campo, Lake Morena Disaster Committee has prepared their Disaster Annex to the San Diego County Disaster Plans. Follow this link to the Campo, Lake Morena Disaster page where you can download or view this plan. The information is in the public domain so feel free to use this plan format to develop your community disaster plan. Additionally, you will want to contact the San Diego Office of Emergency Services to help you in developing your plan. Follow this link to the County OES website. Earthquake E-mail Notification
USGS has a free system that will send an E-mail to any Internet e-mail address when an earthquake happens. Follow this link to their page with this setup. You can choose the format to send a short message to your cell phone. Most cell providers only charge a few cents per message for this feature. check with your cell service provider. Most use a format of yourcellnumber@theirserver.com
